Darren Fancher

Darren founded Sydekar to bring his honest, data-driven business approach to digital marketing. His diverse background as an attorney, entrepreneur, and finance professional give him a fresh perspective on problem solving and business strategy within the digital marketing industry. In that regard, he truly enjoys serving as a business advisor and confidant. Among his goals are the development of, and advocacy for technology to help clients automate and adopt best marketing practices, thereby broadening their reach and improving their customer’s experience.
Prior to Sydekar, Darren proved his startup and go-to-market strategy skills as co-founder and CEO of CASEpeer Legal Software, case management software for attorneys. Darren holds a JD from UC Hastings College of the Law, a BS from Northwestern University, and an MRED from University of Southern California. He serves as a Planning Commissioner for the City of San Juan Capistrano, he is an emeritus member of the USC Price Alumni Association Board of Directors, and he volunteers his services for St. Margaret’s Episcopal School. In his free time, Darren enjoys advising startup companies and hiking the trails in San Juan Capistrano with his family.
Scott Shockney
Chief Strategy Officer | Founder

Scott is a 20+ year digital marketing veteran and industry thought leader who founded Sydekar to deliver comprehensive brand strategies to growth driven businesses. He has worked with numerous internet startups, small businesses, and digital marketing agencies for premium products and solutions in multiple business verticals including affiliate marketing, automotive, financial services, legal, manufacturing, biotech, medical, and other professional service businesses. Applying his experience as an educator, his approach is to provide clarity to complex marketing solutions that drive a superior user experience and improved business results.
Before beginning Sydekar, Scott served as Director of Channel Development at Web.com, and as National Manager of Brand Strategists at FindLaw, A Thomson Reuters Company. As an adjunct professor, he taught Digital Strategy at Washington State University - Vancouver. He has worked with several volunteer animal rescue organizations as a pet foster and as a Board Member for Danville Concours d‘Elegance Parkinson’s Fundraiser. Scott holds a rank of 3rd Dan black belt in Taekwondo and 1st Dan Black Belt in Hapkido. Yoga, cycling and enjoying new coffee spots are his favorite free time activities.

Director of Content

Beth brings over a decade of SEO and content marketing expertise to Sydekar, specializing in high-performance legal content that drives measurable results for clients. With a data-first approach, she has transformed content creation from guesswork into precision engineering—developing scalable processes that deliver faster turnarounds without compromising the quality that earns client trust and search engine rankings.
Before joining Sydekar, Beth built her content marketing foundation working with local businesses as a freelance SEO specialist, all while homeschooling her two sons. That experience taught her the value of efficiency without compromise, a principle she brings to every client engagement.
At Sydekar, Beth has created a comprehensive content intelligence system, meticulously tracking performance data to identify exactly what works and what doesn't. This means every blog post, practice area page, and location-based SEO strategy is informed by proven results, not trends or hunches. Clients benefit from strategies built on real data and refined through years of testing and optimization.
Beth's specialty is legal content marketing, where she combines technical SEO expertise with an intuitive understanding of how potential clients search for legal help. She knows how to make complex legal topics accessible without sacrificing authority, a balance that drives both rankings and conversions.
When she's not engineering content strategies, Beth is active in local youth ministry and manages a lively household with her husband of nearly 20 years, two sons, four cats, and two dogs.

Josh joined Sydekar with a diverse background in tech, business, and marketing. He's been developing websites since 2007.
He specializes in taking client's design concepts into reality.
Josh enjoys fitness, outdoor recreation, playing guitar, travel, cars, and spending time with his teenage son.

Andy is a Local Optimization Analyst at Sydekar, where she has grown her career over the past five years since joining as the first employee. She specializes in SEO, PPC, and analytics, focusing on enhancing local search visibility and driving measurable business outcomes through precise geo-targeting and online business profile optimization. Andy manages local SEO initiatives that increase foot traffic and online visibility for clients across diverse industries. Through daily performance monitoring, bid management, and audience refinement, she ensures campaign objectives align with broader digital strategy goals.
Andy's work blends technical analysis with creative strategy to deliver high-converting outcomes while fostering brand cohesion. Her dedication lies in empowering businesses with localized, data-driven marketing solutions that resonate within their communities and drive measurable and sustainable growth.
Outside of work Andy enjoys spending time with her wife and their 4 year old bernadoodle, Rory. She is also an avid sudoku player, an amateur knitter, frequent reader, and can consistently be found watching The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
